I used this to connect a motherboard USB-2.0 header to a case USB 3.0 I/O. It means that case port only provides USB 2.0, but for my need, that is fine, and allows the case port to be used when it otherwise couldn't be. Bought it to hook up the remaining two USB 3.0 ports on my case as my motherboard only had one 3.0 header works well, had it for about a month. The only real con was the box it got shipped in was huge compared to the size of the adapter.
