Using these drives with my Synology Synology DiskStation DS1019+ 5-Bay. Purchased 5 drives because these NAS drives do 7,200RPM. Worth the investment. I've purchased a few IronWolf drives now but this is the first 8TB and it's quite noisy compared to the 4TB. Overall still happy with it and it performs brilliantly. Fantastic drive, runs warm not hot, Quiet and has all the Nas features you need.
I have 10 of these now and they are running fantastically.

Bought for external backup and the drive, whether connected by a dock or in the desktop itself, constantly causes my system to hang necessitating a hard restart - not great when you're an hour into a edit! All my other drives, six in the desktop and three or four external all operate as they should, but not this thing. Also it gets very hot, is noisy (I could live with that if not for it being a brick), fails to hibernate - sometimes even when the PC is turned off! Seagate's listed number here in NZ isn't valid and despite me informing them of this a month ago it remains so. Emails take two weeks to be responded to. I'm not a technical person, but I know that if I buy things that use acronyms, it's usually more technical, and this product has two acronyms, so it must be good.

This HDD will be ace, until the MTBF target is met, and then because of the way these things work, I'll have to buy another one. Or two. Because that's also the way it works.

Seagate has been my go to brand for a very long time, and I've never had any issues. I decided to replace a 3 TB SMR Drive and really wanted something quiet, decided on saving some money by getting a 5400 rpm drive over a 7200 rpm one.
(This drive is only 5400 rpm). I was surprised to find that this 5400 CMR drive performs better than the old 7200 SMR did however. Also pretty quiet, the occasional click, but I do have a beQuiet case, so your experience may vary. Seagate has been my go to brand for a very long time, and I've never had any issues.
