I already have one of these, which has been excellent, so ordered another to increase my storage. Unfortunately it arrived with a large dent in the side so had to send it back, no doubt due to the flimsy packaging it came in. Not good. I think the title says it all really. It is a great drive for the NAS and it performs exactly as expected. It's been in my server for about a month now and it's stayed silent the whole time, I've had absolutely no problems and it's a great price for its size and caliber. Amazing how cheap storage has become. I paired this with an Orico 3.5" HDD enclosure, and it works great! I have it plugged into an Apple Airport Extreme router and use it to back up multiple Macs with Time Machine. The bottleneck is with the Airport Extreme being only USB2.0, but that has nothing to do with this drive. I'll probably buy one of these again once the initial 10TB of storage runs out. Hard to review a hard drive right... it does the job, it's quiet that all I can say.
I bought 6 of them in 2 separated pb tech stores to avoid or try to avoid bad batches.

When replacing a failed 4TB RAID drive the replacement price was about the same as an 8TB, so it was a no-brainer to future-proof and start replacing with larger drives.
Yes, the drive is a little louder than a smaller drive, but hey it is a larger disk and works harder.

You can't really go wrong with the warranty either :-) Great price and fast service.

Its a good drive for NAS (in my case Truenas using zfs pools), and it just performs. Its a bit more expensive, but that is because of performance. The cheaper drives are typically 5600 rpm and these are 7200 rpm. So the performance (read and more particularly write) is better.
