I wanted a large capacity, small footprint, portable USB drive to travel in my laptop bag with me for periodic Time Machine backups of my MacBook. I'm happy, it's doing the job well. Was sick and tired of scratching around for a drive with enough storage so had a look around and found my favourite in a nice big 4GB drive. Not a fan of the very short cable it comes with - WD could've sprung for a little more cable to make it more user friendly, but I'm enjoying the extra storage. Have bought WD for a long time now and not been disappointed. This is a good buy. Well worth the money. Had this for about a month - no problems. Good bang for your buck. Had to refigure for a Mac, just followed the online instructs, no probs there either. Highly recommended. Much faster upload than my prior external drives. Here's hoping it is just as reliable as my prior WD drives (all going well so far) which have lasted for years. If I plug this drive directly into my Macbook Pro USB3 connector, the drive will suddenly disconnect for no reason - can be an issue while running lengthy backups.

I found a work around - connect the drive to a USB3 hub and then plug the hub into the Macbook Pro

Perfect portable hard drive for connecting to my LG tv which has a 2TB limit to how much data it can see.

This is a fantastic product. Reliable, great price for the amount of storage and easy to use. Very easy to eject and reliably holds files and filling systems in their entirety between access points.
