iRobot Roomba YO Vacuum & Mop Combo

I recently purchased the iRobot Roomba Combo Essential (YO Vacuum & Mop Combo) from PBTech, and I am truly disappointed with my decision. While the vacuuming and mopping functions may seem impressive at first, the device's navigation is an absolute nightmare. It’s a real struggle to use.

The robot often moves erratically, gets stuck under furniture, and struggles with basic navigation, especially around sofas with steel frames. This isn’t just my experience – it’s something many others have reported too. The Roomba Combo Essential is simply not designed to navigate through typical home environments. It can’t handle obstacles properly, and it’ll get stuck repeatedly in places it has no business trying to go.

The iRobot app offers minimal control over the vacuum, leaving you with no way to guide it manually or set up virtual boundaries. So, if it gets stuck while you’re out, you’re stuck with a robot that will just sit there, wasting time and energy until you return to rescue it. It’s frustrating, and honestly, it makes me question why such a basic feature was overlooked in a so-called "smart" product.

And if you're considering returning it – think again. PBTech’s return policy is as frustrating as the product itself. Once you’ve opened the package, you’re stuck with it, even if you realize it’s not working as promised within the first 7 days. I am genuinely upset that I had no way of returning it, especially after discovering its many flaws. While PBTech’s customer service is generally great, this experience has been disappointing and incredibly frustrating. We are now in the process of raising the issue with iRobot directly because the product is simply not living up to its advertised claims.

If your home has anything more than open spaces, do yourself a favor and avoid this product. The Roomba Combo Essential might work for large, clear spaces, but in a real home – with furniture and everyday obstacles – it’s a disaster. The lack of LiDAR navigation makes it an unreliable, ineffective cleaning solution. I would strongly recommend investing in a robot vacuum with proper navigation technology, like LiDAR, to save yourself the headache. This product just isn’t worth it. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
