Logitech MX Keys Advanced Wireless Keyboard

I'm using Logitech products for decades, keyboards and MX series of mouses.
As expected, the 'MX key' has a high-quality finish, super smooth tasters with indentations for fast and silent typing.
It is wireless, has a long-lasting battery and rubber grips to prevent slipping. It would be a truly amazing product if Logitech allowed full control of illumination. The only way to keep the lights on all the time is to keep the USB charging cable plugged in. I understand the necessity for power-saving mode but if you work for hours by night, a keyboard light that is constantly switching on/off becomes a distraction. The only way to keep the lights on all the time is to keep the USB charging cable plugged in. I hope Logitech will release a software update and solve this issue. If you don't need constant illumination and like the 'wake up' effect when you wave your hand above it, you will love it.

I've had endless different types of keyboard over the decades and ended up with this one after looking for a low profile backlit keyboard. I did not want or need it to be wireless because I wanted backlighting. As it turns out, this is the only low profile keyboard you can buy with backlit keys... and it's wireless. I don't use any of the special features e.g. device switching, so can't comment on those. it doesn't have the ability to detect ten key presses at once, but that doesn't get in the way of my gaming. The backlighting has too much bleed around the keys (that's for the designers to improve next time). Regardless, I'll buy another one as a backup if they are ever available at a serious sale price.

Having used apple mac for the past 12 years or so, I've been struggling to find a replacement keyboard from Magic Keyboard. This is a great keyboard and the best one to buy for general purpose. I also own the Logitech gaming keyboard and find this one better for typing. It also looks and feels great to type with! Bought this as an upgrade from the Logitech K800 keyboard as this MX Keys is less bulky, and unlike the K800, it can be paired with up to 3 devices! The typing experience is nice. My error rate is no worse than the K800 but I wish it had feet on it which enabled it to be angled up into a better ergonomic position (like the K800). I use it with a soft arm rest but the arm rest is very much higher than the keyboard. So although it adds comfort to use a soft wrist rest, it creates another discomfort because of how low and flat the keyboard is in relation to your wrists.

I don't have the volume button problem the other person posted about here. Perhaps logitech have fixed this. I downloaded the logitech firmware update tool quite soon after starting to use it, and it did provide a firmware update to the keyboard.

My only gripes apart from lowness and flatness, are that the screen brightness keys do not bring up the screen brightness bar on the laptop screen. I initially thought they weren't working in spite of being mapped correctly (as per Logitech Options), until I noticed the brightness was in fact changing when the buttons were pressed, but there was just no indicator. So at least the function works! But it would be good to have the indicator pop up like it does for the volume control.

Lastly, the back-light for the keyboard also illuminates the indicator lights (like capslock and the buttons showing which device you're paired with). You have to set the back-light brightness to really low to be able to see the difference between whether the indicator lights are on or just showing up from the back-lighting. Didn't have that issue with the K800 (which is good, as the back-light brightness level is fixed on that one). The proximity sensor for the back-lighting works well.

Would I buy again or recommend this? Yes and yes.

FInish is nice. Good feel to the keys. I've only had it a few weeks so can't speak to it's longevity. Haven't had to charge it in that time, despite running the backlighting quite high. I have cheaped out on keyboards twice now and have been left disappointed. I have used this Logitech keyboard for a few days.
I prefer these softer keys and they are nicely separated so I don't bump adjacent keys. The keyboard is a nice size and there are no inconvenient tiny keys. The dished keys are also very comfortable. The typing is very quiet, similar to typing on a laptop keyboard.
The illumination wasn't a necessary feature for me, but it is nice nonetheless. The keyboard is slightly raised and, for me, is very comfortable to use for extended periods. Connectivity has been excellent.

I have no complaints. I found a keyboard that is perfect for me and I wish I didn't waste my time with cheap keyboards in the past. Logitech seems to be a brand that doesn't disappoint me.

This keyboard is a quality built unit. I is easy to set up using the included Logitech USB unifying dongle or with a devices inbuilt Bluetooth to connect to your devices and using the Logitech Options software. I use mine on three devices and it is easy to switch between them. The keys feel good to me however I am more of a hunt and peck than a touch typist. The only con is that the key backlighting dose not work as it should as it constantly cycles on and off about every 5 seconds or so which is quite distracting.

I have disabled the key backlighting for that reason. A web search indicates that this is a widely found problem with this keyboard which nobody has found a solution for as yet. Hopefully Logitech will fix it with a firmware upgrade before to long.

Will highly recommend this keyboard for multi-device connectivity and because of the elegance of the design, your computer set up will be aesthetically beautiful.
