On my computer this works well on moving files off it onto the computer, it is very fast. On a phone however the speed can slow to as little as 5 KB/sec which is way below its capabilities. Since my main purpose for buying it was to speed up transfers to the phone to be hopefully much faster than wifi, this variable performance on the phone is very disappointing. This product works well with a phone and can copy a lot of data. However, it is supplied formatted as FAT32, which limits the maximum file size to 4 GB. This is complete nonsense in this day and age and the manufacturer should be formatting it as exFAT. This product works well with a phone and can copy a lot of data. Got this to transfer files off phone, it copied 90,000 files 18 GB in less than an hour.

Even though it was clearly marked I didn't notice this was type-C, but that's on me. Write speed is very slow, but given it's so cheap that's probably expected. The USB3.2 spec is only on paper. This is a very low buffer and low speed USB-C flash drive but with good capacity. My use is to store music files on my car so this works very well for that purpose.
Since the buffer is very low, the speed will reduce from 22MB/s (already very low to begin with) to below 10MB/s just after 10 seconds of write operations. Got this drive for ease of access and to transfer photos from my phone. Being Type C makes it easy for the new devices. Across Laptops, mobiles. Speed is acceptable, has USB 3.2 (Gen 1) but can be faster in real terms. Then again for twenty bucks can't complain. Got this drive for ease of access and to transfer photos from my phone. Good read speed but the write speed is unbearably slow, sequential write is about 1.5MB/s and trying to copy large amount of data is awfully slow. There is no where to keep the cap not even a loop for a lanyard so you will lose it.
