The build quality of the drive is great, and the swivel mechanism works well. However, writes are slow, and the drive gets extremely hot (too hot to touch) shortly after plugging it in, and remains at that high temperature, even with no disk activity taking place. Sandisk is dropping the ball with this model.
The bad:
1. It's sloooooow.
2. The security software included is rubbish. And it will only work on a PC. (Samsung has security software that works on both Android, PC and MAC)
3. It gets hot
4. It's flimsy. It looks pretty but feels cheap and scratches easily.

Is it annoying enough to go buy a different 512GB, maybe not but this won't be my stick of choice for long I agree with everything SteveG78 says

This is great for if you don't need to regularly transfer large files and just want a small drive that works for different devices.
However this tends to get extremely hot when transferring anything over a couple GB, so I'd suggest going for a proper external SSD if that is going to be your use case. Back in the day I would carry around a few floppy's and a whole heap of rescue CD's and DVD's Today I carry this around with A bit of open source software I can do all and more with this one than I did in the past... and to boot I can download the iso's on the phone and transfer them direct to the USB stick so I don't even need the laptop now. Disclaimer your mileage may vary and you will need to know what you are doing. When I am not using it in that mode I often change the file system to ext4 or exfat so I can work around the 4gb barrier.

Summery if you know what you are doing there is no problem it works... If you just need to carry a hole heap of small files there is nothing wrong with its original file system. I carry around one with that file system any way, so I can plug it in to a device that can only read the older file system.

Very useful as have to switch from USB 3 and USB C plugs. No need for extension.
The only thing I have found is the flash drive does get quite hot when it’s plugged in and running. Could be the metal casing, but has made me aware of being careful when unplugging.

I was recommended to buy this product by a computer technician as I was using an external hard drive that was not working properly. Not only does it do a great job of back up my laptop, it is small and discreet plugged into my laptop.
