Velop looks amazing. It would be right at home in the living room next to the TV. Out of the box setup is so simple....until it doesn't work. On Vodafone cable it would just not connect. Three hours, yes three hours on the phone with Linksys support and still no luck. Turns out after three hours they answered the very first question I asked in that does it support VLAN tagging needed to work on this service. This product looks fantastic in the sales pitch and great in the box when it arrives. My experience out of the box was not so flash. It promises new mesh wifi the is simple plug and play off a modem but in reality is far worse than that. I could only get it working via my old router (kind of pointless) and then really struggled to maintain the mesh connectivity. Each time it crashed I had create the account again via the app. Basically a waste of time. The help desk was woeful. These units are very easy to set up using the app. Practically just plug and play. We have noticed a considerable improvement in both the speed and consistency of the internet connection throughout our house. Very pleased we invested in these devices. We also use a HomePod (Apple) and although we had to move all the devices (resetting all the lightbulbs & power outlets) to the new WIFI, this is just a small price to pay for the reliability we now have. Highly recommended. These units are very easy to set up using the app. Practically just plug and play. We started with the little sister of this system the dual band, which covered our house, although our house was too big per spec. As the kids got their own devices and family came to stay. the dual band managed but was being strained.

To give some relief and because we do love the system, got this tri-band system, which by itself can manage our house without problems. (no issues with node distances when setting up in the desired locations, which is how we found out the house was too big for dual band, we used the same node positions). Even though the house got covered we now use the dual band nodes to support some little used areas as well.

Service wise - quick even under this lockdown
Product - greatly enhanced and expand the signal in the house. Everyone in the household enjoy staple connection and tripled speed.

The Velop system by Linksys is, in my experience, the most effective WiFi system I have ever deployed. Every node on the network gets almost the same throughout and experience as the one that is physically connected (by ethernet cable) to the modem and no extra traffic on the network is in evidence to dilute the experience of network extension. I am now able to provide consistent and solid coverage from the very front to the very back of my home on all three levels.

If you have a large home and need to provide consistent WiFi coverage throughout and across your garden and garage, then I would encourage you to try Velop from Linksys. I did some research into mesh Wi-Fi systems before deciding on purchasing this system. The unboxing experience is great! The system very nicely packaged (a bit over the top really if anything). Getting up and running was pretty easy using the iOS app. I got the first 2 units set up easily, but the 3rd one proved troublesome. It took several attempts to get it connected to the network and it had to be moved much closer to one of the other units that I thought it would (not ideal). Also, the power adapters are huge! You can't use the adjacent socket on a multi-board. On the plus side, performance and reliability are excellent! Even experimenting with new modems and cutting power to them didn't phase them, just wait for them to reconnect/reboot and alls fine.
The default mode is as a Router where connected devices can see those on this Wifi LAN but not other devices connected to your Modem or Modems Wifi.

The feature that could be most usefull though is the two LAN ports on the bottom of each Velop unit.
While the first unit uses one to connect to your Modem the others are all free for use meaning devices without Wifi but with a LAN port can be connected to your LAN without running long Cat5/6 cables through your home.

Performance has been excellent, no formal figures but compared to my modems Wifi I get strong signal and speeds through all of my home. (225 SqM bungalow) I no longer have to swap between my AP's in order to maintain good Wifi speed depending where I am.
