TP-Link Archer T4U (AC1300) Dual-Band WiFi 5 USB Wireless Adapter

I have a Samsung S24 Ultra which I share internet to my System76 Galago Pro Linux laptop fine (built in WiFi). The HP ProBook 7430S WiFi died ages ago and I used wired ethernet. However since ditching fibre I purchased this to hotspot and you must disconnect and reconnect several times an hour (upto 10!).

Much research later and its this hardware.....they don't upgrade the drivers or firmware Michael which would probably fix the issue.

I bought another brand nano USB from Jaycar and it works fine first go.

We were using a Netgear product but it kept dropping connectivity without indicating it had done so which was very frustrating. This on the other hand connected immediately and has stayed stable on our old PC since I bought it. The original one of these I bought for the family PC has also been very good. I'd definitely recommend this for adding wifi to older desktops that don't have wifi already on board. PB was out of stock of other wired type and was told its the same, it is not same, maybe 30% less effective as aerial. But easy to fold up and put away. Only problem I have is occasional disconnecting meaning i have to manually re-select which wifi connection i want. Other than that it’s pretty fast and reliable so far. Had it for a few weeks

Pros
- Zero hassle setting it up, worked as it was plugged in
- great signal range
- No drop outs so far (stable connection)

Cons
- the build is alot bigger than I expected, may put some people off Had it for a few weeks
