I used to use this when I lived downstairs approx 30m away from the modem through multiple walls, and even then got a pretty solid and stable connection of around 50Mbps which did the trick for gaming and youtube etc. I did have some issues with unstable drivers and this took a bit of searching around to get a stable driver, other than that it's a good stick though probably dated in todays standards. Device worked just as I hoped it would. My mancave is downstairs from the modem with a couple of walls between them. The previous USB I was using was only single band and the antennae on it was really bad. I was getting appx 6mbps (not a typo) when I ran speedtests! I upgraded to this device and my speeds have boosted to where they're supposed to be. It handles the distance to the modem really well and it can utilise the 5GHz connection that my previous device couldn't.

I'm giving it 5 stars because it suits my needs perfectly. I'm not worried about cosmetics and I'm not comparing to other devices (apart from my old one) Device worked just as I hoped it would. Bought it to replace our Netgear one which was showing signs of failing, this isn't quite as fast, however the connection is stable which is more important. The wifi connection on my laptop crashed while working from home. This wifi adapter got me up and running instantly with a very good wifi reception. Just plug in and connected again! Great dual band adapter! 2.4ghz runs at about 77 mbps download and 21 mbps upload and 5ghz at 97-99 down / 22 up. Real nice quality, love that it’s usb 3.0. For comparison, my old tp-link was only getting 17 mbps download speed. I Have a mini- itx and used to use Ethernet but using this adapter with fibre and the 5ghz network makes gaming and 4K videos run/load smooth.
