Brought this product to extend our wifi the last couple meters of our house so I wouldn't have to use my mobile data. Well I have had this for 2 weeks, I have already returned the item once to get a replacement, have spoken to the 24hour support (they are really great) multiple times because even after 4 hours trying every trouble shoot possible to get the product operational on our home network, it has made the wifi worse, as there is now a large chunk of our house where I would normally be connecting directly to our router, I now automatically connect to this absolutely terrible product. 90% of the time the issue is I have connection to...view more Brought this product to extend our wifi the last couple meters of our house so I wouldn't have to use my mobile data. When the internet does work though, the latency is so bad that even for scrolling social media I get frustrated and just switch back to my mobile data.

Not to mention both of the extenders I have had come with a password when initially setting up. Both of those passwords have been invalid. The app for your phone that is recommended to download for "easy setup" doesn't register the product half of the time and when it did it would disappear halfway through the setup making you have to start over.

Customer service from dlink has been phenomenal but this product is absolute trash.

Thankfully you can still manually set it up (reset the device, connect to its wifi network, navigate to http://dplinkap.local in a browser, the default password is 'password', then follow the instructions).

Brought this device a couple weeks age, it did connect to the router but very unstable, disconnect very often, needed to reconnect manually, if you want a smooth connect in your house, please rethink. Difficult to install! In fact could not install using QR CODE. Had to plug into our Ethernet network and use WPS button to get it to connect to our WiFi network. Difficult to install! It was just what we needed at our place. Has the option to work as range extender/access point. Been using for more than a week now. No problems so far.
Initial config/setup might take some time if attempted via wireless connection.
