Creality Hi Desktop Version FDM 3D Printer

Printer is running great. Prints beautifully and the only issue I have had was an ID-10T error which is an error between thw chair and the keyboard. Printer is making and I highly recommend it. If you dont need the multifilament system dont get it, this is prlerfect. Would highly reccomment for a nrw hobbies. So while this printer offers good value for money, our unit had a faulty camera that was blurry and unusable. There is no way to adjust it physically or in software. We dismantled the camera unit and could not find any way to focus it. Saving grace is the fact you can add a Nebula camera for $60, which is far higher quality than the one on the unit and has night vision. Print a hold for it and off you go. I previously had been using the entry level Ender 3 V3 SE but saw this at the really nice price PB Tech were advertising and somehow "conned" my wife into allowing me to upgrade to this colour capable 3D printer. I have to say I have not experienced any problems using this printer and the included CFS unit and so far it has met/exceeded my expectations. The only issue printing in colour has been a noticeable bleed thru of dark colours when combining them with white filament but that isn't the fault of the printer, probably more likely my choice of filament or a setting in the Creality Print software or a combination of both.

Still, I am very happy with my purchase and happily recommend it to anyone thinking of getting into 3D printing. Already thinking of getting another CFS unit to level up to eight colour printing which is something the Bambu Labs printers at anything like a similar price cannot do.

In just under a month of owning the Creality Hi, I had multiple extruder jams with both PLA and PETG, until it ended with the extruder completely breaking. I got a replacement extruder for 60 NZD from PB Tech, carefully installed it, and then when putting the filament sensor cable into the socket... it just snapped off. From gently pushing it in. Brand new 60 NZD extruder, SKU 4001020085.

It looks like the one part that got cost-cut too hard: it's just too brittle. The K2's hotend and nozzle don't save this printer. Even my Ender V3 SE's extruder never jammed once after a year of ownership. Don't be tempted by the multi-filament capability of the Hi. Get a V3 KE or something else instead. Or fork money for K2 and an aftermarket extruder for it.

What gets me with 3D printers is you're expected to tinker with them, but if you do any disassembly, even just to unclog the extruder (12 screws to unscrew and melt the hot glue on connectors to disconnect them), you can't return them.
