This 4x USB is a great device and I have been able to use it quite effectively with my laptop - plugged my keyboard and headphones in and used them without any issues.
The only downside is that the USB ports finish is not good so you need to apply a bit of extra force to remove them once they are plugged into this hub. But that is a minor blip considering the low cost of this item. It is very compact hub, and does not take up much space on my desk.

There is one small problem I have with it, as I have to remove the hub from the USB slot every time I start up or reboot my Toshiba laptop. Once my desktop screen is on, I replace the hub and it works fine until the next time I have to restart the laptop. It is very compact hub, and does not take up much space on my desk.

This product works better or just as good as the $80 hub I bought - having an extra HDMI port is good if Acer whoever you bought off did not channel VGA through USB3 anyway and one USB3 port that doesn't really seem to go faster with USB 3 products anyway - 4 USB2 ports for less than $5 ea. - extremely good value and handy - I have 4X HDD plugged into one slot now! Not much to say about the hub itself - it looks like the photo and works as expected. But, the package is a cardboard sleeve wrapped around a hard plastic box, and of course everything is wrapped in ubiquitous clear film.
