The Metropolitan is a justifiably beloved starter pen. Pilot's nibs are well known for their consistent quality and reliability. The body is solid and well balanced. The only drawbacks i see are that the cap posts just a tad less securely than I'd like, and unfortunately the metro only takes con 40 converters or cartridges, not the Con 70, alas. After seeing a lot of videos about fountain pens, I decided to get one for myself, and I heard that the pilot MR3 was a good beginners first choice so I bought it. Works perfectly, and it writes very smoothly. I’m glad it arrived on time, actually it arrived before it was supposed to come which is spectacular. If you would like this pen, I recommend you getting it from PB Tech because it’s cheaper than the other stores that sell it. All pros no cons here. I can see this pen lasting me years, I’ve had it for a month now and it works brilliantly.
