Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro (Bluetooth) 45mm - Grey

I've never had a smart watch before. So it was a big learning curve for me.

Good things:
1) I mainly wanted this watch to check for atrial fibrilation, which I've recently had diagnosed. It seems to work well for that.
2) I really like how you can customise the watch face. Or change it completely.
3) I like the way it tracks your steps each day.

OK things:
1) I did have to turn off some of the notifications. There's just too many and they're too interrupting.

Meh things:
1) Like all of these watches, they are tracking and storing your data. I wish there was some way out of that. I've never had a smart watch before. So it was a big learning curve for me.

I did think a shop demo model would be cheaper than a brand new one but not in this case!

Watch is fine and certainly a step up from the original and 2nd gen versions. Doesnt come with power adapter but does have charging cable so dont forget to add an adaptor or be ok swapping cables out for charging. Nice watch. Good size screen. Excellent battery life. However I upgraded from an old Samsung 3 Frontier and to be honest, there's little difference in functions and usability. Also I miss the rotating bezel from the Frontier. Rumour has it the upcoming Watch 6 will return with the rotating bezel.
The magnetic strap clap however is nice.
Another bugbear is they swapped the buttons around from the 3 - why?
Lastly my biggest issue is that NZ does not support the ECG function (as yet) even though Samsung NZ themselves said it did. The Watch purchased a week ago, does as advertised. Definitely needed to have a Samsung phone, otherwise much work is required getting software onto the Watch. A key app is Samsung Health.Strongly recommend getting to know the functionality of this app before looking at anything else. A big disappointment is that purportedly blood-pressure is detectable, however this doesn't seem easily accessible in New Zealand. The phone isn't needed for the Watch to function, measure and record while exercising, though it makes post-exercise analysis of records more convenient.
