Cruxtec provides misleading specs for MACs. They do not support extending on multiple displays. The adapter will only extend to a second screen, if you hook up a third screen. It will mirror the second screen. See images attached and note the difference between Microsoft.

I’m not sure if I was just unlucky and it was just mine, but it died after a year, whereby my two additional screens just started disconnecting and connecting every 5 mins. Tested both screens and it was definitely this unit. When plugging it into my laptop from the start, it didn’t insert securely, the same all others do. Came home and connected the adapter, it took a few minutes for monitors to be recognised by my computer.

Now I have 2 x 29 Wide screen monitors and my 17 inch Laptop monitor.
Now my desktop space is endless.

We have used very expensive port replicators of the same brand name as our laptops, but these have proved to be unreliable and not consistent in performance. These HDMI adaptors are much cheaper and work seamlessly. I have a 2k monitor and a lower resolution monitor.
I can plug each monitor into the splitter and use it to extend my laptop screen onto the monitors.

I got this dock to connect a newly purchased monitor to my work setup and it worked like magic. I am using it with MS Surface, which has caused me no issues so far.
