Very pleased with purchase overall. I bought this to be able to provide multiple USB connections to my iPad while being able to charge the device at the same time. Hub does this without issue, aside from sometimes getting quite warm during operation (exacerbated slightly by the metal casing). Build quality appears flawless and doesn’t have that cheap, toy-like feeling in the hand. Space grey metal casing is also a good visual match with my space grey M1 iPad Pro. I bought this to replace a very similar unit from Angelbird which had gone missing. I had some issues with the Angelbird, incluuding not recognizing all monitors reliably and not delivering power to my MBP16. This new unit works perfectly. I've owned two of these products and both failed within a couple of years due to poor cable construction. First the HDMI output begins to flicker and then the ethernet connection stops working. I won't be buying another one until they include a more flexible cable that doesn't fail so easily which is a shame because it would otherwise be a good product. You know when we used to buy headphones that would crackle and break and you'd have to twist, force, bend the wires to get the signal to work? Tape it? Tie knots in it?

These satechi dongles have exactly the same problem. I had it already replaced under warranty, and now this second one has also failed on me, with the cable becoming glitchy and increasingly difficult to use my peripherals.
And it's not like I'm hard on it, I only unplug it on occasion when I take my laptop for a weekend trip but I hardly travel with my dongle.
