Screen flickers when set to DP 1.4 mode, although works fine with the monitor set to 1.2 mode.

I got this thinking to replace the shorter one i have. With my Acer X34 3440x1440 this cable doesn't work, plugged it into same Dp port on graphics card as the other cable and no signal, plugged it into a different port and it flickers on for 1 sec then off for 1 sec. For years my Dell 4K monitor sometimes wouldn't turn on when I resumed my computer from standby, and the monitor would regularly blank when things happened nearby like a tumble drier being turned on. I thought it was a video card or monitor problem, but when I replaced this cable with a higher quality Startech cable the problems went away. This makes me think this cable is adequate for some circumstances but I would suggest going with a higher quality cable if you have problems or value quality.
