The Eufy stores the video clips, so you don't have to pay a subscription to get full functionality, which you have to do with the Arlo cameras. I've got an Arlo, so I am in a good position to compare them. The Arlo is practically useless without the subscription, if your field of view includes the road, because it gets activated by cars or pedestrians, and you can't select an activity zone to exclude the road. One complaint about the Eufy (and this applies also to the Arlo) is that it is sometimes slow to respond to movement, like 20 or 30 seconds, which makes the intercom feature a bit useless: your visitor or burglar has moved on by then! Good price, easy to install but doesn't pick up on all human movement past the camera. We've set it up to capture our whole front yard but unless the person comes quite close to the unit, it sometimes doesn't capture their movement. The camera is pretty good with 2304 x 1296 pixels maximum resolution.
The Eufy Security app is a bit flakey though.
Edit: After using this for months now, I've got to add that the software app is complete crap a lot of the time, but when it does work the camera is really good.
The camera really needs a small 5V solar panel to keep the internal battery topped up. It can be run without it, but every month or 2 you'll have to plug in a charger
to charge it up. The camera is pretty good with 2304 x 1296 pixels maximum resolution.

This was my first foray into the Eufy universe. Good app. Great product. Easy setup. We're using it as a standalone device right now. There is a several second delay between activation and notification on my phone, but that is normal for completely wireless devices and inexpensive cloud-based services (i.e., free in this case). I can't figure out how to get notifications of low battery or power going down completely, so days go by before I notice that it's not working. I have found the camera great for my needs. Very easy set up and phone app. It takes a small amount of setting adjustments to fit for your own personal needs. Night time vision is good, and it clearly picks up human / motion. It has good audio. In fact so good, I had to turn it down as it was picking up neighbours conversation whilst they were walking to their car. This camera gives me peace of mind. I have had for three weeks and not needed to recharge as yet. You need to be mindful where the camera is placed, for access to remove and charge. This does what it says on the tin: it's a security camera you need to charge once or twice a month, but otherwise is set and forget until it sends you an alert. App is perhaps slightly clunky but not so bad I'd mark them down for it. Second camera for outside I have purchased. I've also got a Tapo. Both have positive and negatives. This has a wider range to notify motions etc. The app is more temperamental. It doesn't pick up animals which is sad because I love seeing what my animals are up to.
