Misleading Marketing, Useful Only for PS4 Games

I bought this Seagate 2TB Game Drive for PlayStation for my PS5 expecting it to expand storage for PS5 games. Unfortunately, that’s not how Sony’s system works: PS5 games cannot be played or installed on USB external drives of any kind, even official “PlayStation” branded ones.

What this drive does is:

Store and run PS4 games

Act as a cold storage location for PS5 games (you can store them but not play them from here)

On a PS5 with limited internal space (<667GB usable), I had hoped this would help with PS5 games but it only offloads PS4 titles. That’s fine if you still care about PS4, but if you’re a PS5-only gamer it doesn’t sol...view more

Easy to use

Easy to set up and use as it is compatible for PS5. Seamless transfer of files between the drive to the console but it is a tad slow for the bigger files (as expected) but you can leave it to run in the background while you watch TV. Highly recommended for your online purchases.

7 day right of exchange

If you change your mind after making a purchase, or realise you have ordered the incorrect item, you can enjoy the peace of mind that we offer a 7 day exchange policy.

To exchange a product, goods must be sealed / unopened, with packaging in original condition, and accompanied by a valid receipt dated no more than 7 calendar days from when you request an exchange.

If there is not a suitable product that can be exchanged for your returned item you will be offered a credit on your account or gift card based on the value paid at the time of purchase.
