I just bought this portable hard drive last week. I am using it to back up 7 TB of my hard drives on my desktop for travel (a lot of video and 3D add-ons). I should have read the Tom's Hardware review on this hard drive's read/write speed. "Among the drives we've run through our new testbed, the Samsung T5 Evo lands in a solid last place." It copies slowly, but it is not terrible. (I began using what I thought was a USB 3 plug, but it turned out to be connected to a USB 2. This is the perfect hard drive, the only thing that could make it better would be if their was some way to attach to cord to it so it’s a bit more portable. Stunning. Opened it up and it works like a true charm. Absolutely no issues with this product!

Does get a little warm sometimes, but nothing that cannot be handled.

Got this after a few issues with old style HDD's. Had to reformat for MAC to get a better format but all seems to be good so far. So light and small.
Not the cheapest, but it gives me growth space. Seems to be fast when using - not as fast as the newer Samsungs but they are even more pricey.
I loathed at the cost but I looked at a few trashed spinning discs for unknown reasons so if this keeps working as it is then I'd have been better investing in this initially.
