I bought the son the recommendation of store staff but this no way near 1050MB/s. Previously I used another brand for 6 years which worked extremely well. Unlike standard USB flash drives, this one is effectively an SSD in a flash drive enclosure. In Windows 11, it presents as a "SCSI" device and communicates that way, making effective use of the extra speed this interface exposes. One thing it can't do, though, is run faster than the kind of USB port you plug it into so, if you're thinking of buying one, make sure your PC has at least a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) port for you to plug it into! USB 4 or Thunderbolt would be even better!

Another plus is that it has a USB-A connector on one end and a USB-C connector on the other, so no "lock-in" to either standard. I buy this product as a replacement for USB drive used in my 3D printer. The problem I seek to solve is early expiry of the USB drive due to excess read-write operations.
The SSD drive is supposed to have a longer lifetime. But This product marketing information stresses the speed of operation, and not the number of read-write operations it can endure.
The latter not even mentioned.
Lacking such specification, I wonder if it is going to have the lifetime I require for the task I want it to perform, for the price I have to pay.

Bought this to act as the boot drive on a Raspberry Pi 500. Booting from Micro SD card was OK but this runs a bit faster and at 128GB has more file space than I'll ever need.
