Im going to be honest, I had thought a robot vacuum was a bit of a gimic. My wife really wanted one - I didn't. So, we compromised and got one, not too dissimilar to the time we compromised and got a cat, which now catches wild rabbits and hides them in our two year olds wardrobe for us to discover.

The Deebot is very clever - I still don't feel like we're using it to its full potential. It maps your house, has an actual good mopping ability and actual good sucking power (on some of the more thorough settings), it has obstacle avoidance with lasers and cameras - very high tech - "you can even tune in to watch it on your phone", my wife was bragging to me. Made in China so that data is surely confidential. I think she said it can take a picture and send it to you if it can't reach something during a clean. I'm not sure how I feel about that feature, to be honest. I have a feeling it's just going to end up ratting on me all the time, which is points against, if true.

Speaking of rodents, I’d be lying if I said I wasn't curious to see the action replay of a chance encounter between the Deebot and Mr Meowington's next wee rabbit pal - I wonder if the AI can tell its not actually a small lumpy mat. Something to look forward to, I guess.

Anyway, suffice to say that so far everyone in our house is happy with the purchase. Everyone that matters at least.

Purchased it less than a year ago. Here is my experience
1- too noisy, you can't run it at night time or when you are hanging out in the lounge ...
2- can't run it when you are out of home as it usually tangles around the edge of the rug or gets stuck around the door stopper or behind the couch or under the table!
3- doesn't clean properly regardless of the size of the rubbish. it appears to have a selective paths without the full overage of the area. yes I have tried X1, X2 or double cleansing or usual cleansing...
4- if you choose anything other mop and clean at the same time, the software gets crashed and it basically doesn't mop only...view more Purchased it less than a year ago. Here is my experience

5- gave it a map and still doesn't work withing the boundaries, and yes I know how to map the space
6- poor quality or the main brush and the frame. the main brush keeps getting tangled ( I keep checking and it's not tangled , it stops working with the main brush tangled message). The brush cover is so poor that trying to put it back together it breaks easily
7- if a furniture is on it's way , it spends so much energy and time to pass around it that basically runs out of the battery before it finishes the job.
8- It shoves the rubbish under the rug ! just lift up the rug and you would know what I mean.
9- minimum of 3 hours drying cycle for the mops, which in summer heats up the whole house.

So you think you get a good quality top of the market for such an expensive robot ? think again. I would have given it back if I could.
