These are simple to replace and the printing is good and clear. As a senior citizen I would recommend it.I have owned this for 5 years and it has served me well both for business and home contact. After moving to 'refill-type' cartridges (purchased from one of the main NZ businesses in that field), but experiencing more than one cartridge failure and/or short ink life over the past couple of years, I have gone back to buying the genuine Canon ones. Obviously no scientific comparative study, but it does give me peace of mind that I can rely on getting a decent photo print when I need it.
Also, as always, PBT's service was prompt, and their ink cartridge pricing was the best of the suppliers I checked at the time of looking to make the purchase (of several cartridges). The print head in most Canon printer is part of the printer. Unlike some other brands where the print head is built into the cartridge. As the ink actually cools the print head and stops it melting it's important to NOT have ink problems or print when tanks are empty, to avoid damage. I only use the Canon standard cartridges which last all the way through and do not dry out.
