This gift set from Revell includes three models (Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress, P-47D, P-51 Mustang), 6 paints, brush and glue.

The 8th Air Force was established in Savannah, Georgia as part of the USAAF shortly after the U.S. entered the War in January 1942. Along with British bombers, the 15th Bombardment Group flew the first combat missions against targets in Europe on 4 July 1942. The targets were German airfields, the station at Rouen and later Wilhelmshaven.

In mid-1944, the 8th Air Force totalled about 2000 heavy bombers, 1000 fighters and had a strength of about 200,000 men. The 8th Air Force played a major role in the fight for air supremacy over Europe and thus also the Allied victory Germany.
