Features

The Bismarck, the flagship of the Reich's warship fleet, was the largest German warship along with the Tirpitz. Her displacement reached 50,900 tons, her crew numbered 2,092 men. She entered service on 24 aout 1940 and was involved in Operation Rhine Exercise on 18 May 1941. Accompanied by Prinz Eugen, it was soon spotted by British air reconnaissance planes. On May 25, 1941, a battle with the Hood ended with the Hood's loss. A long chase ensued, and he was again targeted by British ships, the battleships King George V and H.M.S. Rodney. r She was finally sunk by her crew on 27 May 1941, r less than 490 km from the French coast.
