I've owned the Quest 3 since it first launched, but needed a secondary headset for other family members to use for multiplayer. Since the 3S is so reasonably priced, I decided to buy one. It works exactly the same way as the Quest 3 (as you'd expect) but the optical quality of the lenses is noticeably poorer compared with the more expensive headset. This mostly affects the ability to read text on screen; everything except what's perfectly in the centre of your field of view will be slightly out of focus/blurry, which doesn't really affect action games much, but text, definitely. Something to be aware of is that Meta demands that each individual user of the Quest headsets uses their own Meta account. So if you have kids, you'll need to set up managed Meta accounts for each of them. And if they have friends that want to come and play, they're supposed to only use their Meta accounts. Yes, it's invasive and overbearing. The reason I mention this is that Meta will threaten to suspend your Meta account (and take away all your purchased games/content) if they 'detect' a person under 13 is using your account on the headset. I consider this very concerning and a significant breach of privacy. Please just consider this before purchasing, because knowing is half the battle.

Super cool technology but battery doesn't last very long. I suggest upgrading to the hard head strap that holds an extra battery. The mixed reality is amazing!!! Really easy to set up, easy to use, good quality games. I wasn’t sure if there would be enough storage but there is plenty. I have have owned a 3s for about 2 months now, its great for most things except when playing beat saber (main selling point for me). The tracking in the right hand controller fails quite frequently when doing fast movements. I'm not sure how common this is, but I've tried many different fixes and solutions but nothing has worked soo far.
