Material looks like cheap plastic. After a few months of use it cracked in the middle and I requested to be replaced by warranty . Got a new one and same thing happened after 7 months . It is sturdy and was easy to assemble. I bought this for under my standing desk and I think it's good. The adjustment method is really bad (you need to undo 4 wing nuts) but it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. As I am the only one to use my desk, I just set it and never touch it again. Might not be for hot desks or shared desks or if you need to often adjust it.
