Great Solution, had for a couple of weeks now, replaces a TP Link Archer A10 that was having issues with all the smart home additions I added over Xmas. I put one unit in the garage where the ONT is and the other in the master bedroom, provides perfect wifi6 access to all compatible devices in the house. A cool feature is the band combining, so you only see 1 SSID for both the 5 and 2.4ghz networks and each device auto negotiates, this makes adding devices easier. Alexia/Google home is also supported, there is a certain satisfaction lying in bed watching a movie / sport and telling Alexia to turn off the kid's internet and announce that's its bedtime and that they can have 1 thing from the cupboard. Some people call that lazy parenting, I call it forward thinking from ASUS. Very happy. Base device as a MESH router is solid, additional features that work well and as advertised make this great value.

I bought one of these to use as an Aimesh node with my primary Asus TUF-AX3000 router.
I'm using it with wired Ethernet backhaul down in my garage, and beats having 2 different SSIDs.
Speed doesn't seem super dooper, it hits around 450mpbs on my iPhone 11, where the main router gets up to 600.
Note the speed wasn't getting above 150mbps till I updated the firmware from what was delivered.

Switches seamlessly with no dropout while moving between upstairs and downstairs garage - where the garage usually wouldn't be covered by the main router.

Bought this for the girlfriends family as their network connection was dismal and always dropping out. Signal loss would cause the TV to freeze when watching the news...painful.

Great coverage sufficiently reaching all corners of the double story house and also boosting the signal over to the neighbouring cottage on the same property. Older folks can watch Country Calendar, the young ones game and stream Netflix in the cottage, while Dad works in the study.

Seems okay as a mesh system, but so far we're disappointed because a big reason we bought this one was for the claims of Parental Controls, including the Content Filter stuff demonstrated on the Asus website. If that's your reason then don't bother with this, or at least think carefully. On closer inspection this model comes with AI Protection Classic rather than Pro, which doesn't provide any more advanced features like being able to block out website categories. My main router is an Asus TUF-AX3000 router that gives great Wi-Fi coverage for about 2/3 of the house. I purchased this to set up an ASUS AiMesh and expand the WiFi coverage to the rest of the house. Setup was very easy using the ASUS app. Now have excellent WiFi coverage across the entire house. Easy to set up and works very well with the ASUS router App. I have added one of the nodes to my existing home router (ASUS RT-AX3000) in case anyone is wondering about compatibility. The system simply would not connect to the internet despite the same connection working fine with my cheap standard modem provided by my ISP. I spent over 6 hours trying to get this connected, including 4 separate calls to my provider. The ASUS app is useless and provides no options for trouble-shooting connectivity issues. I recommend avoiding this product at all costs. I would rather use a 56k dialup modem from 1998 than deal with this glorified paperwork again. I ultimately exchanged it for a TP-Link system that I setup and had online in less than 15 minutes. It was easy to set up and reliably more than tripled the wifi speed at our student daughter’s workspace. She’s had speeds as low as 7 Mbps and rarely reached 30 Mbps. She’s now routinely over 100 Mbps and has reached 156 Mbps.

I’m using it to augment rather than replace my old wifi network, as I suspect it’s a bit laggy for units closer to our router. No expert though, so this could be my imagination. DO NOT BUY THESE... they have been nothing but a problem since my purchase in 2021. If you are not tech savy at all, look else where these are horrible and I spend every month or 2 trying to fix something that ASUS has stuffed up.
