Upgraded my PSU to support my new GPU, as the old 750W just didn't cut it anymore

I have to say installing a power supply, depending on bran,d can sometimes be annoying, specifically around the way the cables are and how they fit I love that these cables are individually separated, allowing you to easily pack the CPU cables into the tight gaps only complaint is the power switch is weirdly recessed. I bought the ASUS TUF Gaming 1000W ATX 3.0 power supply to future-proof my system for potential GPU upgrades like the RTX 4090 or 5090. It supports PCIe 5.0 and comes with a 12VHPWR cable, so it's ready for high-end graphics cards right out of the box. Over kill for what I need but it was good value with a 10 year warranty! On my AMD rig I will be able to run the future CPUs and GPUs with out a problem. Feels well constructed and I like the look and feel of the cables. Comes with everything I needed and more. I am currently only drawing 450 - 500 W peak and the fans spin on silently; will be interested to see how loud the fans are when I soon upgrade my GPU (bought 1000W for headroom for significant GPU upgrade). Have seen a couple reports online with issues with fan noise and an odd fan curve that ‘suddenly turns on’ but haven’t had any issues -the fan turns on without any noise and spins smoothly and close to silently (at least at the 450-500 W I am drawing). Update: Upgraded my gpu and still very happy even with my now 700W-and-a-bit power draw. Very happy

Went into the spot of the old evga 750, i got it as they dont sell additional modular cables for these, but was pleasantly surprised that it includes the new pcie power cable the nvidia cards are using, the post fire ones.

So, yeah, does the job, nice surprise with the cable, only issue is the cables have individually braided wires, which i guess is fine if you have one of those spreader clips for case design, but for me its just a bit weird. This 1000watt psu is perfect for my 3080ti and Intel 13700kf. Makes a click noise every time you close your pc. Have not experienced any coil whine under max load i.e. a stress test. Hardware tested 3060ti + 5800x3d.
