Cooler Master V Platium V2 1600W Power Supply

This PSU is advertised as having a fan curve that doesn't kick until until the PSU reaches 40% of rated output power. This is an outright lie, mine is spinning up about once every 1 minute despite my CPU idling at around 20 watts and my GPU idling at around 30 watts. HW Info shows my spikes during this time are a maximum of around 50 watts on the CPU and GPU, so my entire system is using 100 watts + sundry stuff (I have no SATA drives, only nvme). If this was working as advertised then it wouldn't come on until I was using 440 watts.

When it spins up, the noise is quite noticeable (easily the loudest fan in my system) and the air coming out the back is cool. There is no need for the fan to spin. It's louder than the 4070Ti Super in my system when gaming. I wouldn't mind this if it only happened when gaming, but it happens all the time.

Had no such problems with my EVGA power supplies so I'm going to return this.

Prior to this i had the Cooler Master V650 Gold, which serve me well for over 7 years. Of late i have started upgrading the system, and first stop had to be the power supply if i wished to do much. This is quite the beast really, and will allow me to go quite crazy with what i can run. no regrets, no complaints, and the fact i got it on sale is even more the win in my opinion.
Now, disclaimer, i have yet to look at the specs to be honest, hence the four over the five stars, since i just wanted a decent power supply from a decent brand that i trust. Im happy. I have a Unraid server running 16 HDD rust drives. I was experiencing random reboots and diagnosing the issue led me to a underperforming 850W PSU.
I had spilt too many SATA connections off the PSU to power all 16 HDD.
Running the issue through AI and comparing the current 805W PSU to this one, it was a definite recommendation to replace my existing PSU with this. Each HDD is powered off the PSU SATA ports, no splitters needed. It also runs so very quiet, haven't heard the fan at all!
I can now resume re-encoding video and enjoy the stability again!
