Creality Ender-3 V3 SE FDM 3D Printer

I've been putting off getting a 3d printer for over a decade, every year it was like they got cheaper and better. And when I say cheaper, they were limited to a select few printers that were not going to leave much change from 5k.

This thing is amazing, its super quiet, spare for the little cooling fan in the print head, and kind of like watching a fire, that captivating scene where something is happening and its all fancy.

Josh at PB Manukau has been a great help, with advice and tips on how to do various things, what software to use ( tho the creality studio included does it all ) and where to get print files for almost anything you can think of. Careful tho, its a bit of a gateway drug, I want another one now.

Oops. my bad, 14 spools ( not that you go through them, you use surprisingly little - its just the range and colours available).

I have had this printer for a while now and mostly seems OK for the price, has had a few hiccups along the way but for the most it seems pretty well plug and play for just over $400 NZ probably hence why there is no filament break detection. The only downside seems to be the information of product item codes and where to get consumables such as printer nozzles, pulley belts silicone heater block socks and other items that won't last forever, even asking the shop where i purchased from for spares seemed a waste of time and not much help with after sales service. Really hoping that I can find a product parts list somewhere but to date nothing. Overall great first printer but an expensive piece of kit that has to be put in the corner due to not being able to get replacement parts easily in the country. giving a score of 3 due to lack of availability of parts and does actually put me off buying the next model up until I know I can get all the parts needed to keep these machines working.

Been running 24/7 for days and never skips a beat! Churned out many very nicely made pieces, it performs like a $2000 machine! You will need to research about z-axis adjustment, filaments and temps, but it is all very basic stuff. Even my kids are using it! I have made 3D pieces from scratch now and only had it a week and they are turning out flawless. HIGHLY recommended, I did a lot of research before purchasing. I have had a great month or so learning how to use this machine, lots of support in the community. Great value for the price, it appreciates good filament, but with persistence it can use the cheap filament too. I am very pleased with this machine. One of my favourite quotations is 'Design is thinking made visible', and I am very impressed with the completeness of thinking that has gone into this. Even the strong, secure packaging is brilliantly thought out. Creality have thought of everything. The hardware is easy to assemble and operate, the user-interface on the machine is simple, the software is straightforward but with a stunning amount of detailed control, and it produces excellent gcode, Creality also offer their own brand of filaments. When I was checking out buying a 3d printer I though the price was too good to be true. So I read a bunch of reviews online and they said this was great so I bought one. So far it has lived up to the hype. Does everything you want a 3d printer to do. Really enjoying printing toys for my boys, plus a few useful things for around the house and presents for friends. It prints things you tell it to print, like a good robot. Quick to set up, easily acquired software, which is simple to use also.
once you put the printer together, you can pretty much start printing straight away. The auto leveling feature is brilliant, in saying that.. it was perfectly level out of the box which I honestly did not expect.
The packaging is very, very well done, cardboard for ions. if you have a cat, bonus toy.

It has its charms, but it does what it says - 3D prints and prints beautifully.
Many prints can just be downloaded straight to an SD card and you're good to go.
