We haven't used it much yet but we are pleased with the image quality so far. It is quiet, compact and easy to set up. Also handy it that doesn't need a separate power supply. I was urgently needing a basic scanner to plug into my laptop after the Desktop printer/scanner malfunctioned. My Google search pointed me to this Canon model and to PB Tech as having the best price. Given my faith in Canon products, I set out to purchase it. The helpful people at PB in Wairau Valley didn't have it in stock, and offered to get it from the Albany branch or place a hold on it at Albany for me to collect. Given the urgency, I decided to go to Albany and collect it that day. The scanner is excellent and does exactly what its description describes, with excellent quality copies of documents.
