Raspberry Pi Accessory Transparent Case with Fan for Raspberry Pi 4B

Removing the protective layer from the perspex was somewhat painful (i have short nails) but once that was done the whole thing went together easily by watching the video.

Has been in use for a while now with no hassles.

Biggest confusion was around whether this kit includes a fan - IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FAN.

When I first added the item to my wishlist there was no note on the item saying the fan was not included, although PB Tech later confirmed that the note was added before I placed the order on 19 June 2020 (my fault for not re-reading the item description i guess?).

BUT (as of 13 July 2020) 2 of the 3 pictures of this item still show a fan, the video features the fan and there is significant space given in the item description to how to connect the fan (THAT ISN'T INCLUDED).

If you don't want a fan, then this item is available for about half the price at other NZ suppliers...

So to summarise:
+ + great little case, if a little overpriced for what it is
- - average marketing and response from PB Tech and no interest in correcting the item details when I pointed this out.

No issues with the case but the new way they secure the fan to it isn't ideal. The fan hangs loose which means it vibrates and hits the top of the heatsink installed on the board. I have had this case for years, and it has been holding my server for months straight. I haven't had any of the issues described by others. Received this case as part of a kit. All parts were included, and just required assembly, which took 5 minutes. It actually took longer to remove the protective layer from perspex parts than to assemble.

Base attached with supplied screws, spacers and nuts.

Sides and clipped in place together and lined up with all video, power and other ports just fine.

Fan was attached using supplied clips (there seemed to be two different sizes, maybe to accommodate a different fan?) and is held securely to the lid.

Case is a bit rattly when assembled. I'd be tempted to secure it closed with acrylic glue, but then it would be hard to get the Pi in.

The cooling fan is twittery between 50 and 55 degrees, where its running on slow speed. As soon as CPU temp exceeds 55, the fan goes to a higher speed and it stops making annoying sounds.

This may not be an issue when connected straight to the IO pins, but this Pi4 has a POE hat and I had to remove its tiny fan and connect the bigger one to the top of the lid. This also means the hinged lid doesn't open very far.

I'm planning on tweaking those temperatures, and perhaps adding a CPU heatsink. Case is a bit rattly when assembled. I'd be tempted to secure it closed with acrylic glue, but then it would be hard to get the Pi in.

It's a geat and cheap solution for cooling RPI4 platform. Easy to assemble follow the descrition. They forgot the fan. But it's acceptable I received it in 2 days. I would disagree with the other reviews, as the box went together fine, and fits the Pi4B perfectly.

No instructions in the package, so follow the instructions here. Did take a bit of figuring out how to fit the fan.

The case is a very cheap construction and it does not even fit the Pi 4B correctly. In an attempt to assemble it and make it fit, it snapped and one of the sides broke. I would not recommend it. It does not fit the Raspberry Pi 4B properly and the holes are not aligning well with the USB ports and the holes to fit the sides. I tried to get it together and it just snapped and broke.
