Does what it says , great for plug in, back up and unplug..

If you are adding a new drive you will need to format the drive and give it a letter in disc/partition manager.

Plug it into a blue or red usb socket.

While the connector will fit a 3.5 drive, I don’t think enough power is supplied to drive one. At least it didn’t work for me (the drive was tested as being fine).

The shop attendant thought it would work, but it didn’t. Didn’t bother returning it since it was cheap.

Perfect way to turn an internal 2.5" drive into a portable USB device. I use this with both mechanical and SSD drives. I've had no issues, with near full speed of the drives being able to be utilised (500 MB/s + on a good SSD). Hence, a much faster way to store data externally than standard USB flash drives. Was having trouble with a new motherboard and its SATA ports, this was a super quick fix to attach an old drive by sacrificing a USB port.

This worked extremely well, at least in the last few weeks of constant use with it for my server. The LED on it helps me easily understand when it is writing or reading. This allows me an easy visual to see when someone is accessing a Minecraft server on it (one of the things I am running through it). The adapter also looks very clean and modern. The length isn't very long but I didn't need it long and usually in cases where it is used it shouldn't be long.
