I bought 2 x of these. They did work, but I could hear a background noise, quiet but still there. Other similar devices didn't have this noise. So I am not using both of these. I bought 2 x of these. I bought this as my laptop does not have an analog audio input.
Although the mic input jack accepts a 3.5mm TRS plug, the resulting sound is mono only (there was nothing in the specs to indicate mono/stereo).
On Windows 10, I can only get a max quality of 48kHz 16-bit for both ADC and DAC (product title is misleading).
Otherwise, the build quality and operation is satisfactory. I bought this as my laptop does not have an analog audio input.

I had a headset/mic that came with separate headphone/microphone cables, but my laptop only has a single jack. With this I can make use of them finally! Does a good and simple job. I make live recordings of amateur music performance using good microphones and an external digitising pre-amp. I'm using the united to carry a backup signal to a second computer.The quality will not be as good as my professional gear but it's just fine if you are converting to MP3 anyway, and a lot better than no backup for a pretty low price. Bought this for my PS4 and it works fine.
Also plugged it into my Turtle beach DSS adapter which was connected to my PS4 via optical cable and it still works. (Audio and Chat).
