The luminosity is good, the controls are intuitive and easy to use. The lamp comes with a range of pre-programmed colours and settings. By itself, I'd give this a 4/5 because the lowest brightness setting is ideal for a nightlight or reading. It comes standard as a white LED lamp, but you can switch it to use 5 or 6 pre-determined colour modes, inc. red, blue, yellow, turquoise. The red light filter helps with getting to sleep, and it can be programmed to have a blue light come on as a sort of alarm clock to help wake up. Since I was happy with the trial run of the first lamp, I bought a second one.

To get the most out of this lamp, you will require the Xiaomi app and a bluetooth-capable phone. Privacy concerns aside, the app puts this lamp in the 5/5 category. You can download themes and a wide variety of pre-programmed modes, including an actual nightlight mode (deep orange colour, lowest brightness setting), movie modes, romantic lighting.. You name it, there's probably a setting you can switch it to. This includes alternating colours - first thing my partner did was put it on Christmas mode - red/green alternating.

These make ideal gifts and they are very useful for a variety of lighting needs. The only drawback I have so far is getting 2 of them synced to the same phone has not worked. I think this is more down to user error, since each lamp is synced to my own and my partner's phone, respectively.

The quality and the functions of this product has satisfied my expectation. It may not be bright enough for a desk lamp, but it's a bedside lamp.
