One of the main reasons you would opt for this bulb is their HomeKit integration. There are other better Google Home and Alexa compatible bulbs. Yeelight has a tough time maintaining connection with HomeKit. It keeps disconnecting from HomeKit and it’s frustrating and useless if you are trying to automate with HomeKit. Literally did what I expected it to do and hasn't once caused an issue since I bought the product a couple weeks ago.

It was a great addition to my Yeelight LED strip setup in my gaming area and is definitely a mood setter! Can be controlled by itself through the app otherwise you can group existing Yeelight's and control them all at once which is a solid feature, especially when it creates enough white light to brighten a room immensely if you're not needing the RGB aspect.

If you are trying use this with your iphone and Siri, it will be tough as the bulbs lose connection with homekit app quite often. However, works perfectly fine via Google Home and the Yeelight app.
Also just 850 lumens, not that bright if you are planning on using as the main light source. Great as ambient light. I ran with some connection issues setting it up but after multiple tries, it worked as it should. This bulb is amazing, it's bright, colourful, customisable, and super easy to use. The light is amazing, bright, colourful and super easy to use. I've used other rgb led lights and they don't compare at all to this. The brightness of the lights was truly amazing at it's price, being able to easily swap colours with ok google was probably the best part about it. It can connect to multiple devices and works perfectly for the price. I have 2 setup in my room and both work simultaneously due to its easy to navigate app for the bulbs

This was my first smart bulb. It just worked without any hassles. The scheduling great and the app comes with a nice variety of colour/brightness presets as well as the custom options. I ran into a handful of issues with connectivity and function when I first got this product (I brought 2 lots of 2). There were issues connecting it to my router. There wasn't a lot of help online to fix this. The core problem seemed to be a combination of their servers being down and authentication to the router (removing the router password, connect the lights then adding the password back and reconnecting seemed to fix it).

In addition to the above, I also found the recommended (official yeelight) app to be rather problematic. Setting scenes, trying to control a number of lights. You can set groups but it just isn't as user friendly as one would hope. I'd also find that sometimes the light wouldn't show up as connected or I'd have a significant delay with 1 or 2 lights. Sometimes 1 or 2 lights wouldn't even activate or change when told, you'd have to pick your scene or input twice. Also, the app had to be open and running in the background for any of the home screen shortcuts on your phone to work. Which was an issue for me as I am in the habit of closing unused apps once I have finished with them.

However, I also brought a Google Home mini a couple of weeks later and it controls the lights flawlessly with voice commands. I'd highly recommend using these with some sort of smart home device. They may function significantly better with a different app.

In the end, given the price point and performance (once you get past the app and connection issue) I would highly recommend this smart light. The actual brightness and colours are extremely good, especially given the low price point in comparison with other smart lights. I will continue to purchase and use this brand of smart light.
