I bought this cable because I wanted to be able to do screen casting from my iPhone to my MacBook. The first thing that surprised me was that it was the best fit for the USB-C ports of any device that I have used yet. Most USB-C dongles have a poor fit, the tolerances are too large, and they slop around, fall out, etc. This cable has a firm, snug fit that cannot be bumped accidentally.
