The fast read and write speeds of the SSD is limited by the USB-A or USB-C portal max speed as well as your PC components, so don't expect it to have max speeds of the SSD automatically. The Samsung Magician on the SSD has an earlier version firmware than the SSD itself, so it's better to download Samaung Magician onto your PC directly then check updates from there. Performance is excellent. I regularly write over 350 GB of data to these drives in a single, sustained write. Throughput starts at around 1,000 Mbps until the cache is exhausted, but the sustained write speed never drops below about 560 Mbps. It's also very compact and lightweight. Easy to purchase online, takes no time for the product to be ready for pick up. The SSD itself is great value for money, I use it to replace the 1TB Fusion Drive of my iMac 27' 2019 it significantly speed up the boot time. I digitised all of my CDs and bought this to store them on so that I didn't have to spend a fortune buying upgraded storage on my new MacBook. It's the size of a credit card, and looks super sleek. I've had no issues with read/write speed (though there are obviously much faster products available) - but it can get a bit warm sometimes. Will happily buy another one when the time comes. Bought to back up several years worth of photos. Super easy to set up and file transfer (nearly 1TB) was really quick. Nice, compact size too. Definitely recommended. You absolutely can't go wrong with this drive. I move a huge amount of data around and despite the speed of my network, I often find it quicker to write to this drive and transfer file that way. If you're using a Linux OS you'll find the second or third time you power up this , it will play up. Simply reformat it and you'll have no more problems. This is an excellent external SSD. It is incredibly fast and the Samsung interface is very easy to use. It is a nice compact design so you can easily slip it into your pocket or bag.
