Whenever I buy disk drives, internal and external, I always buy Western Digital, and have never struck a lemon. But this drive was a shocker. Problems immediately, so I ran disk-check and it hit a bad sector right at the start. It would not even re-initialise or reformat. Nothing. Then PB Tech's marvellous replacement system kicked in. They sent me an application form to fill in under warranty, promptly emailed a prepaid courier label and a data-sheet to be printed out, and the courier collected it from my letterbox. Excellent choice for affordable external storage, and very reliable in my experience.
I have been using WD Passport drives for years and have not had a single drive fail on me yet... oops!!! wait, I have to go find some wood to touch now ;)
I personally prefer the styling of this generation compared to the last, but have also noticed this generation is slightly more compact in physical size. Excellent choice for affordable external storage, and very reliable in my experience.

Fantastic hard drive so much smaller (physically) than I thought it would be my mobile is both longer and wider as well as thicker than it. Other than that it works fine and does what a hard drive does stores data no problems. Thank PBTech will definitely shop again. Good little portable drive. The free WD software doesn't detect it if you re-name the drive, but the free DataLifeguard software from WD works a treat with this and other drives. If you don't mind minor hassles like this it is all good.
As a side note the Courier three this package over a 2m high unlocked gate onto the concrete footpath. Its a good job that the packaging by WD and PB Tech were substantial enough for it to survive - that why I wanted drive tools to check the drive!

Brought this to expand the storage capacity for my PS4. Was not disappointed. Quick, easy to install and with no noticeable load time differences that matter I would recommend this over purchasing and installing an internal drive. This hard drive arrived well packaged. I didn't realise how small it was going to be. It's a great size though. Works well and no issues. Reformatted it to work on Mac and pc. Was easy to do.
