The only thing I personally don't like is that the sounds are too pinchy. Meaning, sometimes it's too high pitch that it may become uncomfortable to listen to music. I read many reviews of the M30x and it seemed that most people liked them as much as the considerably-more expensive M40x. But generally most people agreed they were better than the cheaper M20x. I found frequency-response plots for all three; the 30 was the smoothest/most accurate bass-wise, and not noticeably more 'lumpy' in the midrange. I wasn't going to spend 'megabucks' on a pair of headphones that might have more precise response etc. like Sennheiser or similar....view more I read many reviews of the M30x and it seemed that most people liked them as much as the considerably-more expensive M40x. They have about an extra octave of bass compared to my now 12-year-old Sony headphones, and have a much better response-plot. I'm very pleased with how they sound, I'm hearing things in music I never heard before, especially bass-wise...
