Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless Premium Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones - White

Having used my Sony WXM4's pretty rigorously these last few years, I was in the market for a refresh. There is a lot of competition out there in the $400-$700 price range so you are probably going to get a great deal across a number of different brands, what stood out for me with these ones was their design, technical capabilities (whilst not supporting the latest BT Codecs one can plug them in to enjoy), battery life and value for money. Coming in just under $200 less than I paid for my Sony WXM4's 5yrs ago, these headphones feel great over long periods, have great customisation options through the Sennheiser app, work across multiple devices and the battery lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts, not too mention, they sound GREAT! Highly recommend 5*!

This very comfortable headset has excellent Audio quality. It requires a desktop mic if you want to game on bluetooth without forcing the headset to mono.

Despite my enjoyment of the product, it failed after two weeks (16th December 2025 - 5 January 2026).

PB tech replaced the headset and the new set seemed ok, but had an intermittent static growl that drops the audio feed for a second then returns to normal, this was not present on the first set. This is now a constant irritant. Going back for a third pair seems pointless, as I have no confidence in this product. I searched around and did a lot of research before buying these M4's, everyone bangs on about the Sonys and the Bose because of the noise canceling, the M4's noise canceling isn't as good, but I feel the sound is better, more separation with instruments a nice amount of base, and the heights are clear, the options to adjust your own sound profile and save multiple styles for different music types is great. I just wore them nonstop on a flight to Bali from Auckland and I didnt fatigue at all comfort and sound. It sounds awesome if working well. The app also is great in tuning the sound profiles.g However, connection drop-offs are common almost periodic even. Especially if you use it on bluetooth on a laptop, drop offs are appearing periodic, like every 10-15mins or so then your game/laptop is suddenly blasting music on the computer speakers (I recommend to use a cable connection to avoid this). On a phone it's better, not as frequent except when you're walking or moving. At least on a phone it's less annoying since the music stops when the bluetooth connections are cut, resumes when restored. Cons though, the lack of buttons could also be tricky when you're operating especially when you get disoriented with the touch areas. Battery life is also awesome, true to the 60 hr on ANC promise. Overall, quite OK but the connection drop offs can be annoying.

Great sound but just know the ear pads will flake, just like most headphones. I had to spend more money purchasing cooling gel ear pads that won't flake and attach them on. Problem solved (for additional cost) but for high end headphones you would think they wouldn't sell you cheap and nasty ear pads that make your ears hot, material gets sweaty, then they flake. After a week of using the momentum 4 headphones I am amazed by the build quality, and the sound quality is incredible. The only issue i have would be the ANC technology these have, it could be better, otherwise overall it is a great quality product. A major plus is their versatility; the sound quality remains consistent across all connection types (wired, direct BT, or BTD600 dongle), which is a rare strength. However, the value proposition is questionable at MSRP. They don't quite stand out enough to justify the full price, though they are highly recommended when on offer.

It's magical when I can hear all the music details from this fantastic quality headphone. It brings a much better perspective of the ability of the artist singing and the use of different layers in the song; and hearing the rich tones, different instruments complementing the song, and the bass are so great.
