I needed this little beauty to connect my old school DVD/VCR player to a new smart TV. Did the trick with absolutely no hassle. Ordering online from PB Tech was easy and delivery faultless. There were slightly cheaper items available from other overseas suppliers but I believe it is worth buying from a reputable NZ based company. Highly recommend both company and product. As a way to extend the usable life of my old gaming consoles, I needed to find a way to convert from RCA to HDMI. This was the only viable option I could find, and it was a mixed result to say the least. Many of my older XBox games on;y support the 60Hz refresh rate, so when I plugged this int the circuit and powered up the console and TV, I was shocked to see the image flickering and warping badly. Setting the console to 50Hz refresh rate gave a much better image, but most of the games refused to play as they did not support the lower refresh. I bought this so that I could connect legacy gaming consoles and media players to the TV, and it works well.
As to be expected, using this device introduces added input latency, so gaming can prove difficult for the modern gamer. Otherwise it works well. I bought this so that I could connect legacy gaming consoles and media players to the TV, and it works well.
