These have been the most disappointing Apacer flash drives I have ever bought. Just LOST the data on another one today and the drive can't be reformatted - so it's rubbish. I bought a few some time ago which weren't used a lot. A couple lasted less than a month and a couple more which are now DEAD. Have other OLDER Apacer (Black & White) drives which have been used over and over and are still working perfectly. These have been the most disappointing Apacer flash drives I have ever bought. Had read the reviews advising the challenges of the slide mechanism but thought surely it couldn't be that big a hassle. Well it is if you transfer the drive regularly between devices which I do. The slide is on the underside and in some configurations it's not that simple to keep your finger on the slide to hold it in place as you push it in the USB slot. Would definitely buy a different Apacer model next time such as the swivel design at exactly the same money. I just bought this USB 3 days ago and plugged it into my macbook and added playlists to it because I was DJing at a party that night. When I got to the party and plugged the USB into my friend's macbook the USB just wouldn't show up! I tried checking in Disk Utility as well but it wasn't being recognized. Needless to say I had to cancel my DJ set. The next day I tried plugging it into my macbook again and it never showed up in Finder or Disk Utility! Hopefully I can return it later today because it's been a complete waste of time and money. I was hoping these would be fast enough to be able to boot linux off but they are so slow that i would only use these for storing documents on. i tried just storing an 8 gig iso on it but gave up because it was taking forever. I honestly can not recommend these as the tranfer rate is just bad.
