Back in the day I would carry around a few floppy's and a whole heap of rescue CD's and DVD's Today I carry this around with A bit of open source software I can do all and more with this one than I did in the past... and to boot I can download the iso's on the phone and transfer them direct to the USB stick so I don't even need the laptop now. Disclaimer your mileage may vary and you will need to know what you are doing. When I am not using it in that mode I often change the file system to ext4 or exfat so I can work around the 4gb barrier.

Summery if you know what you are doing there is no problem it works... If you just need to carry a hole heap of small files there is nothing wrong with its original file system. I carry around one with that file system any way, so I can plug it in to a device that can only read the older file system.
