I bought this as an upgrade as I now have very fast fiber and an old card that could not keep up with the router, this has improved download speeds significantly over wifi. This card uses the same chip as some big branded pcie WiFi cards at a discounted price and bar the Bluetooth capability. After a bit of configuration with my router and drivers I got this card working flawlessly on the 5ghz WiFi. I did have a bit of signal attenuation but I think I got the antennas positioned perfectly as well as moving a few things away from the router. Other than that it's a bare bones card that can runs great and never drops out like my old usb WiFi adapter. Upgraded to this from using a crap little $20 USB dongle. Wi-Fi is fast enough now to actually make the most of our fibre, helps hugely with uploading even large videos for work (generally sending archives at about 1GB/min).
Good connection, gets me a signal strong enough for watching 720p videos even down a floor and with a relatively thin concrete wall between me and the router. Being on the same floor and a couple rooms away lets me play games online with ~100ms to Australian servers, ~150ms to Asian/American servers that are closer to NZ.

Card works pretty well, am able to sustain a connection even from a decent distance.
