Although not a gamer, I found this megapad ideal as a business tool for high-speed document viewing and editing (up to 4x docs simultaneously) on my new LG 5K ultrawide monitor. The Razer's quality surface seems to have the right balance of slickness and resistance for my purposes plus it's a great absorber of keystroke action without being too spongy. Being matt black is also a good incentive to keep the whole work area clean given it's the size of a small desk!! While others have mentioned, it does have an awful smell when taken out of the box, but left it outside for a few hours and mostly gone. I find this very comfortable to work with and it helps to reduce the noise of keystrokes as well as being a great mousepad, and pleasant to rest your wrists on. I find the size to be perfect - not too big, not too small. I have had one for 2 years (still looks great and no obvious signs of wear), and just purchased another for our other desk. At first was hesitant but wanted it for the size as its the same as my desk. Perfect fit and comfortable, more so used as a control pad and have a glass pad on top for my mouse however it works wonders. Very nice and great for the price! Great materials, rubbery and sits flat, grippy underneath for the surface. It has a large surface area which is more than enough without limitations on mouse movements.
