Tractive Mini GPS Cat Tracker - Subscription Required - Midnight Blue

I have been looking for something like this for a long time. The tracker is light and easy to use, gives great feedback on where my dog is, the virtual fence is awesome. The tracker has a sound that allows the dog to be trained to come back, really helpful. Just be aware the subscription to get this all to work is quite expensive even though the tracker itself is not!

Recently moved to a farm and wanted to keep track of my cat. Works extremely well, she hardly notices it and its not too big, was a little concerned with the size since shes smallish but it is all good, battery life drops a lot when out of "safe zone", but can combat that by charging when she comes home for the night Recently moved to a farm and wanted to keep track of my cat. We've had our tracker for almost a year now, and it's going well. Live rural and our cat travels up to 5km away at times over farmland.
Does rely on cellphone signal to relay position back to servers, so if there is no cell signal you wont get tracking data.
Battery life depends how much time you cat spends away from home, anywhere between 1 day and 3 days but you get notified so you know when it needs charging.

My cat loves to roam and having a tracking collar on him gives me some peace of mind knowing I can see him at all times during the day… the only down side of this little device is the battery life. It’s secure, my cat has no issues with it on - the tracking is extremely accurate. I had the larger cat tracker before this one and I have found tractive trackers brilliant for peace of mind. I get a notification if my cat leaves the safe zone I set and I have an idea of where she is . I bought the Tractive gps for my cat who kept returning to our previous house. The battery lasts about 5 days, if you keep using the ap the battery will get flat quicker. It's quick to charge. I can easily pin point where he is and the route he takes. Love the virtual fence and the alerts when he leaves or enters the fence. I couldn't recommend this product more, it has taken the stress away, been using this product for about 3 weeks now. The subscription to use is expensive. It has an excellent interface, lots of features, and works really well, but once your cat gets outside the battery-saver "home" zone, it runs down pretty quickly - so if you're wanting to use it to find a lost pet, you basically only have one day to do it. If it had better battery life, it could have scored 5 stars. There are a lot of issues with this:

- Location is inconsistent. If you cat goes under the house - sorry, device won’t be able to locate it. If you cat goes under a tree - sorry, device won’t be able to locate it. We live semi rural, and it only really works when she is in an open space in the paddock - if she went over to the neighbours house the signal would not be strong enough to locate her. We consistently get the error message “connection is too weak”.

- Battery life is terrible. If you take it off battery saver mode, the battery goes down incredibly fast. We had it off for 10 minutes and the battery went from 100% to 87%. ...view more There are a lot of issues with this:

- Usability of the app is poor. It is really hard to take it off battery saver mode (the mode when the cat is close to your house, which doesn’t actually tell you where it is other than “near you”.

- Very pricy. You pay for the device, great. But then there is also a subscription, that’s fine. But if you don’t want to be paying +$20 a month they force you to lock in for a years subscription - I certainly wouldn’t recommend it.

We ultimately bought this to ensure we could locate our cat and that she is safe - but it can’t even do that. My recommendation is save your money and get an Apple Airtag.

Our cat was a farm cat and he likes to roam. We live in an area in NZ where cats are going missing, daily. It's a nice compact size and he doesn't seem bothered wearing it. This tells us where he is and where he visits, when he returns to our house it goes into power save mode and he's findable by bluetooth, ALTHOUGH the bluetooth could be better, it only works if you're within 5ish metres - annoying when he's gone under the house or on the roof.
